If A Picture Is Worth A Thousand Words, Than An Animation Is Worth A Settlement!

Courtroom re-enactment though forensic animation can be a very effective tool in persuading a jury to decide in your clients favor. Technology is enhancing civil and criminal litigation, mediations, arbitrations and case depositions in a rapid manner. One study by the National Center for State Courts has determined that 82 percent of trials using 3D modeling as demonstrative evidence have led to victory.

How jurors perceive a witness, speaks directly to their opinion of the witnesss character. One study by the ACTA Press stated, A well designed animation can influence a jurors’ interpretation of the participant’s activities in terms of perceived aggression, curiosity, jealousy, fear, provocation, relationships, roles and responsibilities, and guilt and innocence. Jurors will become more emotionally connected in the animation as motion, texture, and lighting are rendered in more sophisticated ways.

How Animation can be used:
The development of computer forensic animation prior to deposition will highlight where information and collaboration is required, helping focus questions while eliciting complete information. By displaying 3D modeling during question and answer sessions by asking, “Is this what happened?” Animation will make the facts clearer to the jury. Computer animation helps juries understand in tangible terms what might otherwise remain an abstract concept. Computer forensics and 3D modeling has been proven to be better than any other type of demonstrative evidence according to a United States District Court Judge.

“I have noticed repeatedly that when a document is displayed on the monitors, the jurors sit up and pay attention. Such attention is far greater than that given to a document or situation which they cannot see as it is being discussed by the attorney and the witness.”

“As long as technology is beneficial in helping jurors understand the facts and, more importantly, in expediting the trial, few judges will oppose it.”

United States District Judge Carl Rubin

Examples of use:

Imagine for a moment a lawyer asking a witness, If the truck was traveling at 50 miles per hour, and hit the side of the building in this spot, what would happen to the truck?” Working with the right 3D animator, the incident can be re-enacted with the true physics of force, surface texture and speed applied to get an enhanced image of the circumstances.

Demonstrating the intricate details of an accident scene, whether portraying a medical procedure or forensic mechanism of injury, there are virtually no limitations to what can be visualized using computer animation coupled with scientific and statistical evidence.

A vehicle traveling at X miles per hour vs. Y miles per hour
If a truck had veered ten feet sooner
If a vat of chemicals had been placed here vs. there
If the train operator had really seen or heard the signal
If the substance was indeed harmless

Recently their was a trial where the plaintiff charged an architect with improperly designing a bridge. The defendant hired a graphic animation designer who took the blueprints, created a sketch drawing and built the bridge with the computer. Then, with the assistance of an engineer, the animator found that the bridge was designed properly. In fact, there had been an accident concerning a car colliding with a support column, which was not reported to the authorities until after the suit began. The animator then re-created the truck accident to show the damage to the bridge and its lingering effects.

Why Use Forensic Animation:

3D computer animations and images remain imbedded in the mind of the viewer long after they are offered as demonstrative evidence. Accidents, models, science or medial scenes, etc. are recreated to scale, through the use of computer animation, from expert or police reports. These animations are both visually presented to the jury. Statistics have shown people in general are much more likely to retain visual information that auditory information such as witness testimony.

A cardinal rule of persuasion or debate is to always show, rather than tell someone what happened. By showing the jury your clients perspective, while the opposing side tells their clients perspective, the jury is much more likely to identify and believe the visual presentation, all things being equal. As the old adage goes: a picture is worth a thousand words, and I would submit if a picture is worth a thousand words, than an animation is worth a settlement!

How to throw a Poker game in your Home without

How to throw a Poker game in your Home without your wife finding out

It is not uncommon for a man to want to have a night out with the boys, maybe play a little poker. It is also not uncommon to have the plans of men thwarted by their wives.

To help with this problem I am telling you the secrets about how to have some harmless fun at home without the wife catching on.

The best way to get rid of the wife so you can have a little Man Time is the easiest but most expensive way to do it. For her birthday you get her and one of her friends a trip to a weekend spa place.

Your wife will think you the best hubby ever and will never suspect you are going to throw a poker game in her absence, and the best part of this plan is that when it is over your wife will be so grateful for what you have done she may be more inclined to allow you to go out with the boys more often.

The next way is a little complicated and will only give you 4 or 5 hours of time at best, but it is much less expensive then a trip for 2. It may seem a little childish and yes I also have seen it on TV but a scavenger hunt scam can work.

The trick to the scavenger hunt is that each spot has to mean something. An example would be the first place you ever went on a date as one of the places she needs to go.

The end of the game is the most important make the last stop a restaurant and make sure to be there before she does. A good idea is to try to think of something meaning full in the area of where you live so you do not have far to drive, this will leave you the maximum amount of time to lay poker with your pals.

I have to admit this is not the ideal way to play poker, but getting away with even an hour of poker without her knowing is more excitement than any regular poker game could ever be.

Now that you have a plan to get her out of the house you need to be ready to go. The most important part of this is a large plastic drop cloth. This is so that if anything spills it will be simple to clean up.

Make sure you are ready to go with the table and chairs and make sure they get put back exactly the same as when you took them. You may want to use a digital camera to make sure you remember exactly how everything was before the game, because I promise you that you wife does.

If you send your wife on the trip I do not recommend using a cleaning service right before she comes back. If the house is too clean she will know something funny is going on

The last two tips I have is to make sure that you have a really nice gift around at all times just incase she finds out, and the other is that if your wife and your friends wives are friends do not invite those friends, if one guy gets caught you will all get caught.

Good Luck.

Spyware Protection through Lowest User Access

June 7th, 2011 by admin

Many of the computers that are attached to the Internet are infected with some sort of Spyware or Adware type applications. These applications are designed to subject the user from anything from annoying pop up windows to the stealing of peoples identity. As time goes along these programs will only become more advanced and will cause even more problems for Internet Service Providers and System Administrators as these programs advance in functionality and become even harder to detect.

There is a simple measure you can take to prevent these programs from being able to access your system in the first place. Many experts recommend that you keep your system updated and ensure you have the latest Virus and Protection software up to date. You can even utilize a firewall, like the one that comes default with Windows XP, to combat these threats. These are great ideas, but there is something simpler you can do that will prove to be more effective at combating Spyware than all of these methods combined. This method is described as Lowest User Access or LUA.

By default most home computers only ever have one user account created and that is the account that first came with the computer. This account known as Owner or Administrator or sometimes even your name probably has Administrator privileges. What most do not know is an account with Administrator privileges is not needed for the majority of tasks you perform on your computer. These privileges are needed when you are setting up software or installing additional hardware to your computer, but for simple surfing the net and working in office applications do not require near this level of access.

Why is this fact being mentioned, well its because this is the main cause of Spyware and Virus infections on the majority of computers. Most computer owners are not even aware of this fact since the default accounts shipped on computers are usually in the Administrators group. This is by design since this reduces the amount of support calls the computer companies receive because people can not perform a certain task and they call for support as a result. If anyone can perform any task then that reduces the chance they will need to call the support desk which saves the computer company money.

There is no valid reason for the majority of users to ever need Administrator privileges to perform 90% of all tasks you will ever need to use your computer for accomplishing. You could just as effectively accomplish your daily tasks with an account that only requires user permissions. If everyone would do this then Spyware can be eliminated and it would not be profitable for people to write these programs. The reason for this was alluded to earlier. Since only the Administrator or Power User Level accounts can install software then at least one of these types of accounts is required for Spyware to install itself. If you are not logged on under and account with these elevated privileges, then the spyware can not install. This is a very easy protective measure to take and you can implement it in just a few minutes. Just right click My Computer and select manage. Then open up the users section and add your self a new lowest access user to your system and use that account to surf the net. You can always log onto your computer with the Administrator account if you need to install something new.

How To Remove Winfixer 2005 Plus Unwanted Spyware And Adware

How To Remove Winfixer 2005 Plus Unwanted Spyware And Adware

Spyware and adware is advertising supported software that allows its publishers to snoop on a computer user’s internet activity.

It is designed to obtain information about computer users and their surfing behavior usually without their knowledge or consent. Spyware is potentially more harmful than Adware because it can record your keystrokes, history, passwords, credit card number and other confidential and private information. Besides spyware and adware, computers can also be infected with my other internet parasites such as Winfixer 2005, viruses, trojans, dialers, etc.

Spyware and adware are installed quite easily on most computers. Many spyware programs often enter computers hidden in programs such as freeware, shareware or demos. Some programs like Winfixer 2005 will often load on boot up, take up your computer memory, cause a computer to display system errors, spawn multiple pop-up windows and even shut down itself.

Why is it important to detect and remove spyware, adware and other internet parasites?

- Loss of privacy

- Reduced and slow PC performance

- Annoying pop-ups that do not go away.

- A computer’s homepage can be changed.

- In severe cases, a person’s sensitive and confidential information can be recorded and then subsequently misused…exposing that person to identity theft, unauthorized use of their bank account or credit card and many other problems.

How to protect against spyware:

- Download and install a spyware remover. Every week you should check for updates to install for the scanner.
This will help protect you against the latest threats.

- Use a firewall and an Anti-virus program. Many people have a direct connection the Internet and do not setup and run a firewall. This can potentially be very dangerous. Firewalls should be running to protect against many potential problems including hackers and spyware.

- Be careful about installing freeware software and downloading music online. Some spyware programs display messages asking for your permission to install the application. Read their agreements carefully as well.

- Be careful as to what sites you visit…sometimes spyware and adware can be installed on a computer simply by visiting a website.

- Use The Mozilla Firefox browser as it is less vulnerable to spyware and adware than Internet Explorer.

Sony Laptops – Are they value for money?

May 27th, 2011 by admin

It used to be the case that Sony laptops were very much better than others they had much better build quality, better components and so on. Lately, though, Sony has been cutting a few corners to try to maximise its profitability, believing that once the Sony label is on something, their reputation will win through and they will be able to sell mediocre laptops at high prices.

To a certain extent, this is true. There are still plenty of buyers who remember Sonys glory days and have stuck with them out of loyalty and genuine conviction that their Sony really is better than the competition. And while it might be better than the very cheapest laptop out there, a Sony laptop is really no longer any match for the best, and certainly not the laptop of choice for running Windows as it used to be.

Of course, all this doesnt so much apply if you buy only from the very top of Sonys range, where the laptops are generally just as good as they ever were, but even more expensive. Sonys strategy has been to try to make normal laptops and top-end luxury ones at the same time, which basically results in the Sony laptops people want being the ones that are priced for people wholl pay anything Apple have a similar strategy for their iBooks and MacBooks.

However, if you can get your hands on a top-end Sony laptop, you will notice a genuine difference in quality. The components are very, very good, the case is high quality, its small and rugged and everything fits together well. Its just a shame that they cant make all their laptops like that. So, beware: while Sony do make good laptops, the Sony name itself is no longer a universal badge of quality, and you need to do more research and read reviews before you buy anything that todays Sony produces.

How To Customize A Profile Best With MySpace Backgrounds?

May 26th, 2011 by admin

While being a member on MySpace, it is important to customize the profile. If the profiles are customized, it will make the usage much more interesting. Not only that, the profiles will also have a unique look for people who visit the profile. There are many ways with which the profiles can be customized best with MySpace backgrounds.

First the use of the backgrounds needs to be checked. As they could be used for various parts in the profile, first the themes must be selected. They could probably be selected based on the theme of the profile, that is, the information on the profile. This should be well thought of before applying the backgrounds. They must also be checked on the sites, as there are bound to be various options.

Sometimes there could be a repeating background, and sometimes there could be a large image. The member must choose what he needs on his profile. The next thing he has to do is ask him whether he wants a fixed background or one that moves. While some users do like MySpace backgrounds that can be scrolled, there are also some that are fixed.

The fixed backgrounds allow reading easier, and the ones that scroll are more creative in look wise. Thus all the backgrounds must be taken a look at by the members before they apply it. Through the use of the backgrounds it is very easy to find the interests of people. This is the main reason that anyone would want to use a background in the first place.

Sometimes there will be MySpace backgrounds, which will take time to download because of the heavy graphics that are used in it. However it all depends on what the user wants. His purpose of presence on the MySpace community will also be varied, it could be personal and it could be professional. Thus all users must ensure that they are applying the right backgrounds.

Obviously no one wants to visit a profile and find that there is nothing interesting about it. As long as the MySpace backgrounds load easily onto the profile, there should be no need to worry at all. All the members of the community have to do is; pick the backgrounds of their choice. Then they can apply it instantly and they can do it with the help of the codes that are listed with them.

You will also have to simply add the code to the place where the background has to be added. If it is for the blog section, then all the users have to do is apply the code in that specific area. Nothing will be more exciting than this, as it is simple as well as versatile. No one needs to use MySpace backgrounds for too long either.

Next you might get bored yourself if you do not have the right settings. To do the above you can get the help of MySpace backgrounds, which will give the profile a lovely look depending on how you use them.

These backgrounds come in various colors as well as themes. You can find various themes with these because not all sections of the profile are the same. You might want to use something different for the blog section or the about me section. Using various backgrounds on the profile will help a great deal, as the sections are what everyone looks at.

You might want to say something specific in the profile in the about me section. It could be anything about what you like or what you do. So what you can do is pick MySpace backgrounds, which will suit these. The backgrounds which match what is written will help a great deal, as then the visitors will not have a great deal of reading to do.

They will instantly know that you like something, or you are doing something specifically. The effect will be unique, because you are talking about yourself personally through the profile. By using MySpace backgrounds, you can be sure that you will be getting a bunch of new visitors to the profile. The best way to make the profile unique is to choose theme-oriented backgrounds.

First check if the theme is right about what you have spoken about. Next you will have to choose the right colors.
